He´s taken me to meet his family, see some of the Mexican "countryside", we´ve partyed with his friends and gone to a soccergame. This week he´s been working a lot, so he sent me out with his brother one day and his mum the other day. We´ve been to museums, cathedrals and basilikas. I´ve seen the virgin of Guadalupe and the biggest flag ever!
Monday I went to Taxco, which is a silver mining city build in the mountains. Very, very beautiful. And on that tour i didn´t meet another Aussie like I usually do, but a Norwegian girl! And her dad is from the same country the dad of the English guy I went to Samoa with is from, Guyana! How many funny coincidents... Well, funny for me anyway.
And yesterday I went to the hairdresser to give my poor hair some treatment that it desperately needed. I haven´t cut it since Rod cut it in September.. So, as usual, the girl cut waaaay too much, and I now have a Mexican hair style... It´s not too bad, but it´s very depressing to have "short" hair again.. I hate hairdressers..
Tomorrow I´m going to the pyramids with one of Jusus´ friends and then it´s partytime!
Right now the family dog, Jeffery, is scuirming on the floor trying to get some attention so I´ll pet her. Yes, it´s a girl. And her nickname is Cachu, which is the noise she makes when she sneezes, haha.
And their Cuban grandfather is sleeping behind me pretending to watch tv. I tell ya, if I can´t be with my family at the moment, this is the second best option! They are so friendly.
And they have a housekeeper that cleans and cooks, I don´t even get to put away my plates, she gets all upset and says "no, no" waving her hands. I could get used to that.. ![]()
It´s been so good to stay with a family here, they tell me where I can go, what is safe and where the best places to buy souvenirs etc are.
The streets are crampacked with Mexicans trying to sell all sorts of stuff to make a living. It´s almost impossible to drive a car through the city center. And take my word for it, the traffic is crazy in this city as it is! Jesus claims that if you can drive in Mexico city, you can drive anywhere in the world, very true. It´s absolut madness!
It´s not exactly a safe city, but we live in a neighbourhood that is protected by fences, gates, security personnel and cameras. It´s a shame that it has to be like this, but believe me it´s necessary. So many people are kidnapped every year for ransom, it´s scary. And a lot of them don´t survive because they might recognise them..
I´m really glad I have Jesus!
Next stop is L.A. (again), my relative wants me to meet her son... And then I fly to London to get rid of any jetlag so I´ll be fit for fight when I get home, hehe!
But now I have to go, ´cause Jesus is finally home!!!

]]>Today I've been to Disneyland! It was so different to what I'd expected, much smaller and lots less funrides. But I had a great time, wouldn't mind taking the Indiana Jones ride again!
Hadn't nearly enough time to do all the things I wanted to, it's a really great place for kids. Especially the small ones... ![]()
When I got back Ann and David took me out for dinner so I could meet their daughter and son-in-law. That was lovely. We took some photos so I can show my grandparents whom they stayed with when they visited Norway.
Ann wanted me to meet her son as well, but he's busy trying to become a fireman. (Another fireman, how funny!) She thought it would be fun for me 'cause he lives with four other single guys or something.. Wow, hey? Maybe not, it sounds a bit like trouble if I think about it..
Well, I'm off to Mexico City tomorrow which I'm really looking forward to. And if I'm lucky, Jesus will come and pick me up from the airport. He told me to be prepared to party... Hope he's not taking me straight from the airport to a Mexican party!! The girls there really know how to look stunning..
I've been on this computer way too long, so I'm gonna crawl into bed.
Have a magical night everyone!

]]>But here's an update from last time..
My English travelmate, Shaun (who is a firefighter(how cool is that??)), left Tonga and went to Samoa. We crossed the dateline and magically got Tuesday all over again! Fun!
Samoa was as we were told, possibly better than Tonga. We stayed in Apia (the caitol) on Upolo for a couple of days before we took the ferry to the other island, Savaii. There we stayed at a place called Jane's Beach Fale. Fales are really cool beach houses that are made out of wood, bamboo or something and straw.. Quite hard to explain, but photos will come later. I had my own fale about three metres from the beach. It was colder taking a shower than swimming in the ocean..
One day we went for a very strenious walk to see the craterman. We've been told to visit this person by a facinating woman that lives in Tahiti where she tries to save white faced monkeys..
It was hard and hot, but Shaun and Kyle (a Canadian we met at Jane's) were good company. At the top we met craterman who walked us the final bit up to the crater. He put a flower behind my ear and made me a glorie out of some kind of bush, I looked a bit like Jesus.. He called me the craterprincess... I was warned before I got there that he is looking for a craterwoman, so I did not get too flattered by these gestures. The boys found it hilarious though, as they would.
I swore after the Tongariro crossing that I would do no more hiking, but after the craterwalk I had to swear again, definately no more walking!!
The next day we decided to go to some waterfalls called Afu Aau. We got a lift real close by a German guy. But don't you know it! We had to WALK to the waterfall through privat land in cowcrap and wet grass. We ended up taking our thongs off cause otherwise it was too slippery.
It was worth it though, the waterfall was magnificant! And it had a natural pool that we swam in and jumped off cliffs.. It was pooring down, so we were the only ones there which was quite a blessing.
We got wet to the bone trying to get back, I've never seen such rain!
We had brilliant weather one day, the day we left.. Still had a really great time.
One evening we went next door to see a fiafia-show. Girls dancing tradtional Samoan dances and boys doing a firedance. Truly amazing! I have to back and see some more firedance-shows!!!! In fact, it should be a weekly broadcast from a Samoan show on NrK every Saturday!! I might have to write them a letter..
So I was really sad leaving Samoa. (Deja-vu... I feel like I've written something similar a couple of times before..)

]]>What a different country. It's a tiny kingdom, but the king here is one of the most powerful in the world. He appoints the government, the prime minister (which is usually his son), the works. Hence the riots in November when the last king died, people want to be a part of the decision-making.
The Tongan people aren't very rich, quite the opposite in fact, but they seem happy even so. Captain Cook named it the friendly islands for a reason I guess.
Although, I'm not always sure wether they are friendly or making fun of me.. I just smile anyway, it seems to go down well, hehe.
The Christian missionaries have had theirs to say here as well, so everyone has to wear clothes when thay go swimming, exept kids of course, and it's totally ridiculous. Just the main island has about 46 mormon churches alone! And if I remember correctly, there's about 100.000 Tongans alltogether.. Really weird. So Sundays are quiet, everyone's at church, singing.
And both men and women wear skirts here, people working for the government (and probably others as well, hard to tell) also wear straw mats around their waists. I quite like it.
I've been on an island tour by bus, which seemed more like a spot-the-mormon-church-tour. And an island day trip out to Royal Sunset where I went snorkelling and saw the biggest clam shells I've ever seen in my life! That's also where I first saw pigs running around free. Chickens, pigs and stray dogs all run around in the streets like they own the place.
I'm afraid I don't have all that many photos, it's been pissing down the last few days and then it's hard to take pics without getting the camera wet.. I'll try harder on Samoa.
Which is where I'm going tonight! I met an English guy who's going as well, he's also going to L.A. the same day as me so we can travel together. Makes the flight less boring.
Gotta go get my things, time to go to the airport.
It would be sad to leave these friendly people, palm trees and frangipanis, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters if I wasn't told that where I'm going next is much better!
What a hard life...![]()

]]>The south island was just as good as the north, in a completely different way! It looks a lot like the west coast back home.
I've been really boring and not done a lot of activities, but after getting a cold I haven't been feeling to well. Hopefully I'll be alright, cause I forgot to get vacsinated.. Hmm.. Not very bright of me, but ah well. Hopefully I'll live, hehe!
We had a different driver in the south, and funnily enough, we knew heaps of the same people from Mission Beach, he had been a river guide while I lived there. How strange!
And we weren't three from the north island, there were two sweet Swedish girls travelling south as well. And we've had so much fun together.
We had a crossdressing party in Barrytown, where I got to dress up as a bus driver. We sat fire on our sambuca shots and the Irsih lad was dancing on the bar wearing only pink bathers! The next morning, Sheena and I dragged ourself out of bed to go bonecarving. I've made a beautiful wave that Rik was really jealous of, him not being able to get out of bed and all, hehe.
After that we had some good days in the wilderness before making it to adrenaline capital of the world, Queenstown. Lots to do and it's all quite expensive. Next time I'll travel with a mate and I'll do it all!!! Not enough time this around.
So now my NZ adventures are over, and it's very, very sad. If you have never travelled like this you have no idea how hard it is to constantly meet people you really hit it off with for so to leave them. I guess I just have to come back and do it all again.. ![]()
Next adventure; Tonga. Can't wait to chill out on a pacific beach....
See ya soon!

]]>Auckland wasn't anything really special, just ok. But I only stayed a night and then the Stray bus came and picked me up the next morning.
It wasn't the best bus I've been on, crew wise, but there were some champion people onbord. To Irish girls that I already miss terribly, an English fella, the bus driver and a few more people...
I'm in Wellington (the capital) at the moment, going from the north to the south island tomorrow, and now there's only three of us left.. Hopefully there will be more lovely people on the other side.
First stop was Hahei were we went to a hot beach, dug a hole in the sand and sat in hot water. The north island is full of active vulcanos....
We've seen a rock shaped as a whale's tail in Ragland (a town which has maybe the best surf in NZ), been to a maori show in Rotorua, I've skydived 15.000ft in Taupo and walked the 17km Tongariro crossing at the bottom of Mt.Doom (from Lord of the Rings) It's really been amazing, especially the skydive! Unreal. I'll do it again as soon as I can!
I 've not had any big accidents, just a few blisters and sore legs from the hike and a sore throut. Although, my little waxing experiment in Perth has given me a bit of trouble from time to time. I was waxing my legs when I got boiling wax on my thumb. Which again created the biggest blister I have ever seen in my entire life! I'm gonna be scarred for life! And I'm actually a little proud of it, it gets out the funniest reactions from people, hehe.
But it's all good. I'm still having fun and really looking forward to the south.
Hope everything is well back home, getting a bit excited about coming home now...

]]>So off we went! And this wasn't thought through properly, we thought it'd be more fun that way. So monday morning the boys, to my surprise, started packing the car. A couple of hours later we were on the road. With little money and an oil leak that we only found out about the last day we had to give The Rock a miss for this time... Too bad when I was that close, but we're talking a 500km detour! And my mate had just broken his rib jumping into the water from a 20 m high cliff the day before..
So we drove and drove, through red sand, burning sun and the world's most annoying flies! They crawl everywhere!
My mates are very impulsive, and don't always prefer to plan things, which meant that we had an empty jerrycan in the boot..
We just made it to Coober Pedy, but not all the way into the servo station, so we had to push the care, AND the trailer, into the servo to fuel up. At least we made it...
We ended up camping at Streaky Bay on the South Australian coast after 15 hours of driving. I slept in a swag (slags sovepose) on the back of the trailer under the full moon, beautful as only nature can be.
Back in Perth we stayed with my mate's family whick are a crazy bunch, but very lovely! They made me scrambled eggs for brekky every day!
I got to meet up with Sandy and Tanea again, from my Perth-Broome tour up WA, and that was great! Sandy and I went to Rottnest to see the great channel swim, which unfortunately was cancelled, but we had a great time anyway. Rotto is a beautiful little island!
But after a few weeks of relaxing, going to the beach (the whitest beaches I have ever seen) and eating home made meals, it was time to go to Sydney.
Saturday was Mardi Gras and that was pretty crazy. I have never seen so many fit, half naked, gorgeous men dance to Kylie Minogue in my life! Quite an experience, I tell ya!
And for the first time of leaving a place in Oz, there was noone to send be off and say goodbye. A bit sad since I was leaving the country, but at least I've been lucky to have had friends take me to airport etc to say goodbye throughout Australia!
It was so sad to leave, but the bright side was that a new adventure was just around the corner..

]]>If this was Darwin I'd be flat out.
The heat in Alice is quite pleasant actually, especially when you don't have to work...
It reminds me a bit of Greece mid summer actually. And I finally feel like I'm on holiday. I love this!!!
It was really good to see my mate Justin again. He lives at a caravan park with another mate at the moment, working here. I love living at a caravan park merely for the fact that it feels like living outdoors. If I want to take a shower I have to walk to the shower block (which I for once don't hva to clean..), it's only a short stroll, but a nice breeze hits you on the way and you smell the flowers and trees. Lovely.
We just decided that it's about time to leave Alice. Even though I just got here, I'm always up for a road trip! Particularly one without much planning. Last minute adventures are always the best.
So the guys are taking me out for a bit of sightseeing this weekend around Alice and then we pack our bags and leave. They've already promised to stop at the Rock and the Olgas since we're so close. It's only a 500km detour... ![]()
Than we head south for a bit and hope to be in Perth in about two weeks. I never thought I'd see Perth again so soon, but I'm stoked that I get to meet Tanae and Sandy again!
I'll try to keep yous updated, but I doubt that I'll be near internet until I get to Perth. We'll see.
By the way, thanks to everyone that sends me e-mails! It's so nice to hear what's going on in your lives! And good to know you still think of me...
Savner alle mine venner og hele min familie... Gleder meg masse til a se dere alle igjen snart!!! Just one more month left in Australia, it'll be a bittersweet goodbye.. Someone seriously have to invent a machine that can take people from one place to another at the speed of a thought.. Preferably with unlimeted luggage capacity, hehe.

]]>I left Townsville and my dear friend Andrew in the beginning of December. Got a ride with a truckie, Allister. The trip took almost four days. We stopped in Charters Towers, Heugeden, Mt. Isa, Three Ways, Tennent Creek, Katherine, Tipperary (cattle) station, Adelaide river and a few other places before Darwin.
He is a really nice bloke and I had such a good time. I really enjoyed driving a road train.
We stopped in Adelaide river so that I got to see the buffalo that was in one of the Crocodile Dundee movies, Charlie.
In Darwin I got my job back and started the next day. One of my best friends up here has gone south so everything feels a bit different, but I'm getting used to it now. Making more friends and new memories..
I pretty much just hang out at the pub or with people I've met at the pub. I prefer that. Can't stand all the people in the city.
Now it's the day before newyearseve and I'm with Heidi in Palmerston. Tomorrow I'm actually working.. Hopefully we'll finish pretty early so that I can go out for a bit.

]]>Two months in Darwin and I've hardly written at all, too busy living I guess. I've adapted to the Aussie lifestyle by now, life is pretty crusie..
It's hard to have left Darwin and sit back and think of everything I've done. There's so much, Christmas, New year, catching up with old friends, making new...
Christmas was very different. Worked dayshift and almost forgot that it was Christmas eve cause no-one here celebrates it. So that evening I ended up watching dvds at a Simon's place. He's a real good friend of mine that I've had so much fun with. I once told him that he looks like the little pet monkey I was glued to as a kid until I lost it on a bus in Greece when I was about five. (I guess I wasn't glued to it after all..) So what does he get me for Christmas? Yup, his pet monkey that he's had since he was a kid. How nice was that?!
Christmas day I had lunch at the pub with all the regulars.. Very, very nice actually. Great food! I can't believe Mark threw out all the leftovers!! I wanted those spuds for brekky!!!!
New years eve I was working again, and the following morning as well, so Gary and I took it easy. Went to Dinah beach for a few drinks and a laugh. Saw Penguinman and bellydancing girls. Counted down the end of the year, welcomed the new and went to bed. Pretty much..
I never got the chance to go pig-hunting. Not really sure if I wanted to anyway.. Didn't go Barra fishin either, but you've gotta save somthing for next time, hey?
Went fishin one day though, didn't catch anything, so it was mostly a chill and sunbake day. Very, very nice. Went for a swim and ate chicken wings. ![]()
My ear seems to dislike any other water but what comes out of the shower, but luckily my friend the fisherman has got heaps of creams an shit that worked miracles. I'm forever grateful for his care.
I owe a lot of thanks to many people in Darwin actually, time went so quickly, and it wouldn't have unless I had so much fun.
And I must remember to thank my stars as well for keeping me out of trouble.
I was riding a push bike home one night after visiting a mate, when the chain hopped off.. Right outside Bagot community. It is a black fella community where you, as a female especially, don't want to hang around by yourself at night. So I turned around to go back to my friend's to get help with the chain when the whole back wheel fell off as well!! I was flabbergasted and had no idea what to do. Then a cop car came by and offered me and the bike a lift back to Winnellie. I couldn't think of a safer way to get home. How lucky was that?
Aussies in general are real friendly people. I'm amazed...

]]>Just a week left in Darwin and I might never see the place again!
I left Mission beach and went to see me mate Andrew in Townsville again. We had heaps of fun, but I sort of had to keep moving, get a job and all that. So I went to the place where I knew I had lots of friends; Darwin.
And it didn't dissapoint me, I've had so much fun hey.
Got a ride with a truck driver up here, he's a really nice guy. He even let me drive his road train for a few km, it's a huge 3 trailer, 43m long truck! Good fun.
I got me old job back at the pub, and have lived and worked here for more than a month now. It's home to me.
I've met so many lovely people here, it's unbelieveble. I'll write some stories later, now I've gotto go again. Sitting in the bottle-o waiting for it to close. Which it just did!
Talk to ya later!!!
Love you all...

]]>After spending a couple of days in Victoria, Andrew and I flew to Townsville on Wednesday. The next day we drove back to Airlie beach to catch up with friends. It wasn't quite what we'd expected, but I had a really good weekend. It was all different now that there were so many new people and very few of the old that we used to know. But on the other hand, it was like we'd never left. Strange...
Saturday we went out and had a really good time. The wolfjuice might have had something to do with that, hehe. It's a dangerous mix of vodka, redbears, redbull and cheap white wine..
Sunday was spent by the pool or in the shower. Very hot day.. It was a very good, lazy sunday. Especially after having eaten the biggest brekky of my life, the so-called "fat-boy-breakfast", which consisted of steak, bacon, sausages, eggs and veggies.
After the weekend we haeded back to Townsville and stayed there for a couple of days. I was supposed to go to Mission on Tuesday and stay a while, but it seems that there will be a change of plans since my friend up here suddenly got a girlfriend, and then it feels a bit awkward to move up here..
So now I'm back to scratch not knowing where to go next. But that really doesn't bother me cause I've got friends in so many places I'm spoiled. All I have to figure out is which place I'd rather be.. So I'm giving myself till after this weekend to come up with some sort of plan..
It's all good. Plans change all the time. It's part of what I like about travelling, the freedom to do exactly what you want, when you want.
So now I'm going to take some "me-time" and see what my gut feeling tells me, hehe.
Hope everyone is enjoying this pre-Christmas-holiday time, and I hope you get lots of nice, white snow back home!
The wheather here doesn't give me any Christmas feeling at all, so I actually envy you a bit.. But just a little bit. ![]()
Take care!!

]]>But my dad was coming over so I had to fly down to Melbourne to meet him.
Wow, it was cold down south! I got a cold that I'm still trying to get rid of..
But the bonus was seing daddy, and that was fun!
He had brought birthday presents for me! Thank you all!!
I got a new camera, and I took about 300 pictures while we were travelling 'round the south. But I forgot the cable so I can't upload them at the moment. ![]()
First thing we did was fly to Tassie!! Great little island. We flew to Hobart and went to a winery, the Cadbury chocolate factory.. Mmmm.. And drove to Ross where we spent the night. The Man'O'Ross hotel is a really nice pub, I think my dad wished he could stay there for the whole stay, hehe..
But the next day we had to keep driving, had a tight scedule. We went to a wildlife park close to Launceston to see the Tasmanian Devil! And then we watched the V8 car race until I got hayfever... (It suchs to be allergic..)
The last day we wanted to see a bit of the Tasmanian wilderness.. But the fog put a stop to that, so all we saw were the signs pointing towards the lookouts..
Ah well, Tassie is beautiful, and I would love to go camping there some time.. Maybe next trip.
Back in Melbourne we rented a car and headed for South Australia. We stopped in Apollo Bay before the Great Apostels and in Mount Gambier before we went to some fossil caves in Naracoorte.
After that we took the inland road down to Melbourne again, which we drove straight through. We stopped in Traralgon to say hi to Andrew and then spent the night in Maffra at Helen and Robert's farm. They are truly lovely people!
Next day we headed for the Snowy mountains. We stopped in Jindabyne and drove up the mountains to see Australia's tallest mountain: Mt. Kosiouzco. (Don't know if I spelled that right, but it doesn't really matter..)
We went to the Snowy River festival and watched some horsemanship and Stockman's challenge. (Basically people riding horses, cracking whips, saddeling their horses and that kind of stuff.)
We've been to Canberra and saw the new parliament building, but that wasn't too exciting so we kept on driving towards Sydney.
My birthday was spent in Sydney, at the Aquarium and Darling Harbour. In the evening my dad took me to the operahouse to see a ballet, it was a really, really good day! Tusen takk pappa!
The next few days were spent i bit north of Sydney, we went swimming at Killcare beach so that my dad got to swim in the Pacific and watched the surfers..
Before we headed back to Melbourne again we went up in Sydney Tower and took a tour in the harbour on a jet boat, good fun!
We stopped along the way at Birldland wildlife park and got to hold a big snake and a cuddely wombat! We stopped at for luch at Helen and Robert's again and my dad dropped me off at Andrew's in Traralgon.
Altogheter we drove more than 800km on Tassie and more than 4000 on the mainland! Unreal! I don't have to say that we saw a lot and had a lot of fun!
Thanks to everyone for remembering my birthday! Some of the messages was real unexpected, I can't believe you remembered! But they all warmed my heart. I miss you all!

]]>I work at a workers pub right outside the city centre. It looks a bit dodgy, but the people here are wonderful. I've met so many nice people it will be really hard to leave..
I try to get around a bit on my days off, but you really need a car to get anywhere nice, so I've only been out of town once.
Although I have been "pub-crawling" in town.. Fun, but I like staying at the pub better!
Next Sunday Heidi and I have got the day off to do something togheter before I head south to meet my dad. So hopefully her boyfriend will take us and some friends to Litchfield national park and then do a barbie later.. Can't wait!
Gotto go, I'm on my boss' computer and I don't want him to get cranky cause I'm occupying his office too long! ![]()

]]>So I hopped on a bus to Broome. It took 7 days and it was truly amazing..
Had a really nice driver, Sandy, and she'd brought along her crazy 16-year old daughter, Tanae. Or 10A as I call her, hehe.
The bus left Perth early in the morning and stopped in a small town after a little while. First stop to hop on or off, but since I hadn't much time, I was going to stay on the bus all the way to Broome. Which on one hand was a shame, cause my ticket was valid for six months and the west coast is sooo beautiful. On the other hand, I got to know Sandy and Tanae and they're really good people!
This was the bus we spent a week on:
We went to the Pinnacles
They're really beautiful. In was almost a bit mysterious cause it was raining and it created a strange atmosphere.
And we went to national parks..
Me in Nature's Window
Took heaps of pictures of flowers...
Saw animals:
Dolphins at Monkey Mia
Eagle
Emu
Wild horses
Lots of beautiful landscapes..
Ghost gum
Sunrise at Auski at 6 am...
We went snorkelling at Turquoise Bay.
The current there is so strong that all you have to do is walk up the beach, get in the water and let it carry down to the other end of the beach. No swimming; more focus on fish and coral!
We went to Eighty mile beach, which unfortunalety has so strong current that you can't swim.. But you can relax, enjoy the view and collect shells.
In Broome we went out to see the dinosaur prints and the sun set over Cable beach.
Later that night we went to see the staircase to the moon...
And the next day I saw camels!!
It was a really good trip, so good actually that I wouldn't mind doing it again!
And I wouldn't mind going back to Perth either.. It would be awesome if I got to meet Sandy and Tanae again. Miss you guys!

]]>I snorkelled for a while and saw lots of stripy fish. Took a few pictures, I'd bought an underwater camera. But I can't afford to get them developed yet.. Just bought a trip to the west coast and that was the rest of my savings... It better be worth it!!!
I actually can't wait to go... I'm leaving tomorrow. Flying to Perth and then taking a bus up to Broome. Then I fly from Broome to Darwin to meet up with Heidi. I'm really starting to look forward to seing her again. It'll be nice.. Had a hard time making up my mind on where to go and which direction, but my purse finally made that choice for me, hehe. And then my dad will come a month later! That's gonna be really, really nice..
But back to diving.
I went out with a boat called Osprey (the down under diving company)and that was really good. Snorkelled and dived and ate lots of nice food.. It's really a nice experience to see the reef from below, not like from above...
Gotto go now, out of internet credit..
Talk later! By then I'll be in Darwin...

]]>We drove for a while before we stoppet at Woolworths to get some food and after that; the bottle shop!
Then we headed for the mountains to find a camping ground and set up the tent before it got too dark.
It gets pretty dark here pretty fast, so lucky us had candles! ![]()
We camped near some beautiful falls, which I of course have forgotten the name of... But it is the tallest single drop fall in Australia. (278 meters or something..)
Although it doesn't really look that tall on my pictures...
We went for a walk before dinner up to the fall, the moon was full and made the landscape blue.. Too bad my camera doesn't take good night photos, it was magnificant! Breathtaking.. And the water made sooo much noice it's unbelieveble! Everything else was quiet and we were the only people there.. Quite magic..
The next day we went back again to get a look at the falls in daylight and to walk down to the bottom of the gorge. It was a 1.7km (each way) steep walk and that's hot in the tropics!!
But worth it of course..
We went to some other waterfalls before we went home, but it wasn't quiet the same...
Hopefully I can go camping again sometime soon, and then it would be nice to spend a little bit more than one night in the bush.. ![]()
All well though, I've not been bitten by spiders or snakes. Not eaten by a croc, or attacked by a cassowary: perfect trip!

]]>The party was good, the island better. Had a great time, met a lot of funny people, but boy it was hard to go back to being a regular backpacker after living in Airlie for so long. Back in Townsville again it was time to say goodbye to the boys. It was quite sad cause I don't know when I'll see them again, but at least we've had a really good time.
Next stop was Mission Beach to do some white water rafting. The highlight of the trip for Em and myself. We had great weather and a good team, awesome day on the river! And yes, we did get wet.. Both Em and I forgot to bring extra shoes, so we had to walk barefoot the rest of the day.. Rafting is something I wouldn't mind doing again! I'll definately find myself a river to raft when I get back home..
Next stop was Cairns, which has sort of been my goal destination in Australia. Beautiful city. Although it didn't quite catch me.. A bit "touristy". It's bigger than Airlie, and that was strange in the beginning, I didn't quite know where to start to get to know the town, but by the time I left again I'd managed not to get lost too many times a day, hehe.
While I was in Cairns I went to Cape Tribulation to see the rainforest. I'm really glad I did, it was beautiful.
I met some nice people and we went sea kayaking and horsebackriding on the beach.
Taking a picture of myself trying not to drop the camera in the water..
Beach at cape trib
Horsie!!
Back in Cairns I didn't really know what to do next or where to go.. But even though Cairns isn't a huge city (it only has about 130 000 people), it was bigger then I preferred at the moment, so I decided to go back to Mission beach again. And here I am! It's small and peaceful and I love it! Didn't really get to see the beach properly the last time, so now I'm enjoying it to the full!
Borrowed a bike. Good fun. More fun if it had an engine.. ![]()

]]>I came in to work this morning, just in time as I overslept... (It's amazing how hard it is to go to work after having a weekend off..) I think I was still asleep when I came in today and tried to find my name on a board. (That's how I know where I'll be working that day) I couldn't find it, so I went to my boss and asked where I was going to work, and she sent me home! So my last day at work was Friday. I wish she told me on Friday.. Then I could've stayed in bed this morning istead of rushing in to work.. Ah, well. At least I got up to enjoy this beautiful day!
Part of me actually doesn't want to leave this place now. I know so many people and I know all about this place. Well, there you go, that's a reason for leaving, go get to know another part of Australia! But it will be sad to leave my friends behind.. Especially since I don't know if I'll ever see them again. It's different to leave your home and your friends and family cause you know you'll be coming back to them..
So now I have to go find myself a place to stay. As I do not longer work here and accomodation was part of my paycheck, I have no room anymore. Well, that is: I do, but then I would have to pay for it. I'll go see if any of my friends want a new roommate for a couple of days! I can clean at least, hehe. Don't know about my cooking skills though, so I don't think I have too much to brag about. Yesterday I was making corn cob for dinner and I guess I had it on too hot, there was cooking oil splashing around everywhere, you couldn't see anything because of all the smoke in the room and my cob was black. I had to open the door and put the fan on full to get the smoke out.. My friend was not impressed.. But it tasted lovely, so you didn't see me complaining! ![]()
I'm off to the beach now, so I'll write more later, can't stay inside in this gorgeous weather!

]]>But I'm not complaining!!! Not at all, Norway in the winter is horrible in comparison.
And being in Airlie is at least relaxing. I don't worry about a thing. I spend my days working and night reading, getting to know new people or partying. When I have a day off, I have found some good spots to bring my mp3 and my book. I prefer to be all alone and chill, just me and my thoughts, and sometimes I get to watch some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Like today. I have pictures, but I have to look at them on a computer or something first to see if they're any good.
I know my sister think I take to many scenic photos, and too many animalpictures.. But the nature and wildlife here is so beautiful and so different from home I can't help myself..
I will, however, try harder to take some different ones, envolving people and things we do... Just for you sis, cause I love you! ![]()
And staying in a place like this gives you an opportunity to meet a lot of people, there's so many people passing through. The downside of course is that they all leave after a while..
But it's worth it... ![]()
Now I'm going to have my free dinner at Morocco's!
And by the way, I'm back to working only in housekeeping again. Em is working in the laundry with two of our roomies. We moved in to a proper staff room now and share with another English girl and a couple from Ireland. They're all very nice!! So you're never lonely, hehe..

]]>If you're not full of cash, have a car or a lot of friends, it's really not much to do here...
So I don't really have a lot to tell..
My job is ok, though. I'd never thought I'd like to be a cleaner, but it isn't that bad actually. I work with different people every day and in different rooms, so the days pass fairly quick. We usually finish at about three, so we still have time to go to the lagoon if it's not raining. Which is what I've done today!
And every now and then some nice people move in to our room, and we make some new friends.
At the moment Tiril is visiting, and that is SOOOO nice! It's good to have someone "from home" to talk to. We didn't know eachother for a long time before we left, but it's still nice. She's going back to Norway soon, and I kinda envy her, but on the other hand I'm not nearly ready to go home just yet. I like Australia.. hehe..
And I really love travelling. I'd just love to go on a four month world tour or something to Asia, South America, Cuba and so on... Not alone though.. But that would be great fun!
Well.. My mind just went blank.. I haven't done much lately, cause I still haven't got my first paycheck, it's due tomorrow..
So we'll see if I'm up to some fun later on, hahaha!
Hope you're all having a great summer, I'm having the best winter ever! It's warmer here at the moment than in Oslo... ![]()

]]>At least money will not only go out of my account, but finally in as well! I need to save up a bit before we continue north. There's still Magnetic island, Cape Tribulation (Great Barrier Reef meets the Rainforest), diving and much more to explore! Hehe..
Have to mention that I'm officially addicted to Nando's chicken. And Dad, you'd be proud of me, I love corn on a cob!!! I'd eat corn every day if I could.. With butter, salt and pepper.. Mmmmm...
And I should also thank Em for looking after me.. She's banned me from touching animals.. And other stuff that live in the wild.. A few days ago we were out clubbing.. I have to admit that I had consumed a few jugs of cider at this point.. I went to the bus stop to say goodbyu to a friend who was leaving. To get there you have to cross through a small park. And so I did, and I saw this cuddly little animal crawl up a tree.. I thought it looked like the racoon from Pocahontas,Miko, and thought I'd go over and pet him.. (I might have been spending too much time socialising with wild animals in parks...) Well, anyway, he sat at the bottom of the tree and kinda waited for me to come over, so I bent down and pettet him. Not a good idea.. He grabbed my arm and bit me!!!! How rude! Later I found out that it wasn't the racoon from Pocahontas, but an Australian possum... Therefore, I am not allowed to touch.. And lucky she did say that, cause the other day while I was brushing my teeth, I saw a lizzard or a gekko or something on the wall and nearly tried to pet that too, but remembered Em's words.. Luckily.. I don't think it could harm me, but evidently I could've harmed it... Ops..
There is a huge lizzard (guana, I think it's called) right where we live. It's 1 1/2 meter long and very ugly. I came out of my room the other day, and there it was, just two metres away from me. They're not even scared! So I feel that I live in the bush..
Well. Enough talk of animals. Just a little more.. I have sent a picture of me and Lizzie (my horse from coyboy school) to Kaare and Dorothy with a postcard telling them what I've been doing lately. I have also sent pictures to my grandparents. So they can see for themselves that I'm still alive and doing fine, hehe..
That's it for now. I'll be back when I have more stories to tell...
Hugs!!!

I'm sitting in a travel agancy at the moment and thery're closing, so I'll write the rest later...

]]>I wish I could show you all pictures now, but I have them only on my camera... And by the way, I'm fine, but there's no reception here, so my phone is pretty much dead.. I didn't realize until it was too late to tell anyone about it. Today we're heading for Airlie beach to go on a sailing trip on the Withsundays, so I might not have reception there either. So don't worry if you can't get a hold of me, I'm alright. I travel with nice people. Em is still with me, and we've met up with two Norwegian guys, three Danish guys, four Irish and two English. All very nice. We all went to Fraser toghether and had a blast!
We left the hostel in four Jeeps carrying about 11 people each on Friday morning.
This is what we drove
First we went along the beach ( which is the closest thing you come to a road) and then in to the middle of the island to swim in Lake MacKenzie. Unbelievably beautiful!
Then we continued north and camped on the beach. No toilets or any fancy things, and we were on the worlds largest sand island, I guess I don't have to tell you that it was a lot of sand everywhere... Absolutely everywhere.. I have eaten and drunk sand for three days..
Saturday we went to Lake Wabby, which is a half hour walk on a sandblow. The water is green and not one bit transparant. You can't see anything! Well, we saw some huge fishes swimming close to the surface along the shore line... So I didn't stay in the water for a long time... I probably wouldn't have gone in at all if it wasn't for the fact that Em pushed me in..
Me on my way back from the lake
Then we drove up to Indian Head, a little hill where you can see sharks swimming around below you, if you're lucky.. Hehe..
We weren't..
So we went back a bit to the Maheno ship wreck and set up camp there. Still no fancy pancy camp site, just us and the sand.. But by now we were pretty much used to it, so.. And we brought enough goon (cheapest white wine that you can get, only 9 dollars/45 kroner for 4 litres) to keep us drunk the whole three days, so it wasn't really a problem anyways, hehe.
I have become a true camper. Can't remember if I changed clothes at all during those three days, but at least we swam in the lakes, so we weren't that dirty.. ![]()

The beach... Does anyone envy me just a little...? Hehe..
Look in front of you for meeting cars, people, animals and creeks. Look behind you for overtaking cars.
Look above you for landing aircrafts! This beach is also a landing strip...
The final day was just spent chilling out on the beach near Eli creek. Very good trip, recommendable!
So now I', sitting here in Rainbow beach waiting for my bus to take me to Airlie beach. The boat to the Whitsundays leave Wednesday morning. I think I'm back on Friday, but I don't really remember. After that it's job hunting time..
